Jesus. Good News.
Most of us have an opinion about Jesus. Many of us have formed an opinion based on what we've heard from others - parents, pastors, friends, skeptics. In the first four books of the New Testament, we get an inside look at Jesus - from those who spent the most time with Him. John, one of Jesus' closest companions, believed that the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus was good news for everyone. He compiled stories and teachings, giving us a glimpse of Jesus from many different angles. Ultimately, John wanted us to believe in Jesus - and in believing, he wanted us to find a new kind of life, a life of joy and hope and peace and love. This Lent, we journey with Jesus, through the eyes of John. And we prepare for the Easter celebration that is to come.
